How our Filters Work
The filter’s outer ceramic wall has micro-pores that screen water down to one micron, effectively removing up to 99.99% of bacteria and suspended solids. These tiny pores make it highly efficient at filtering out particulate matter and fine sediment, while also serving as a strong barrier against bacterial pathogens and waterborne cysts such as E. coli, Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and Salmonella.
Water then passes through the inner core of activated charcoal, which removes other contaminants (based on filter selected) and unpleasant tastes and odors. Activated carbon attracts and traps contaminants due to its porous structure and large surface area, allowing it to efficiently adsorb harmful chemicals. (Adsorption occurs when molecules adhere to a surface they come in contact with.)
The ceramic wall is infused with silver ions, which act as a natural biocide. This prevents bacterial growth in the filter and the stored water, eliminating the need for sterilization, even with long-term use.
FAQ: Is there a filter available that effectively removes Fluoride and PFAS
Unfortunately, no. There is not currently a filter available that can remove both. However, both filters are effective at removing a wide range of other harmful contaminants as listed above in the comparison chart. You should select the filter which you think is best suited to your water supply and personal needs
